The KCD2-SOT-Ex1.LB is a Pepperl+Fuchs switch signal amplifier suitable for intrinsically safe applications.
The KCD2-SOT-Ex1.LB is used to transmit digital signals (from NAMUR sensors or dry contacts) from hazardous areas to safe areas. It controls dual passive transistor outputs through its inputs.
The operating mode can be reversed and the line fault detection function can be disabled via the dip switches. Additionally, the dip switches allow configuring the second output function as either a signal output or a fault output.
In Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) equipment, where switching actions are frequent, conventional relay output safety barriers may experience reduced lifespan due to the frequent switching. Therefore, it is recommended to use the Pepperl+Fuchs transistor output signal safety barrier, the KCD2-SOT-Ex1.LB.
