  The P+F HiD series of isolation barriers feature a fully motherboard installation method. Both field-side and system-side wiring are completed on the motherboard, eliminating the need for wiring on the isolation barriers themselves. Maintenance of the isolation barriers does not require touching any wiring terminals. They can be connected to the motherboard using DCS system cables. This design is particularly suitable for situations where the DCS and isolation barrier assembly need to be dismantled, transported to the field, and reinstalled after commissioning and acceptance testing.

  The P+F H-Series allows multiple isolation barriers to be installed on a terminal board, connecting hazardous area field devices to the control system. Compared to single-interface modules, the terminal board significantly simplifies wiring and saves costs. The terminal board is equipped with a sturdy plastic enclosure, facilitating quick and secure installation within the cabinet. The terminal board has multiple mounting slots, enabling engineers to install isolation barriers without tools. The isolation barrier modules support hot-swapping. Optional fault monitoring terminal boards further expedite operation and maintenance. Pre-wired cables with cable connectors simplify design and documentation management. These cables replace the complex point-to-point wiring between the terminal board and controller I/O cards (DCS, ESD).


  Motherboard

  The standard terminal board features screw-type terminal blocks that allow for the connection of 2.5 mm² (14 AWG) wires. For specialized automation systems, terminal boards with spring-type terminal blocks or SUB-D connectors are available.


  Modules

  A variety of interface modules provide electrical isolation between intrinsically safe field signals and automation systems.

  The P+F H-Series interface modules can be easily inserted onto the terminal board without any additional tools or cable wiring. The modules provide electrical isolation between the intrinsically safe field signals and the non-intrinsically safe measurements in the safe area. The key features of the H-Series interface modules include high channel density, space savings, single-loop integration, and simplified startup and commissioning.

  P+F H-Series Isolated Safety Barrier - HID Interface Modules

  With a width of 18mm, the HID modules are characterized by high channel density, low power consumption design, and SIL2/3 ratings. A 16-slot terminal board can connect up to 64 channels.

  P+F H-Series Isolated Safety Barrier - HIC Interface Modules

  The single-channel HIC interface modules have a narrow width of just 12.5mm, featuring single-loop integration, SIL2/3 ratings, and up to 33% space savings in the cabinet. Their low power consumption design keeps cabinet temperatures low, extending module lifespan. Even with multiple modules installed in a cabinet, heat dissipation remains minimal.

  Electrical isolation is maintained between the non-intrinsically safe measurements in the safe area.
